Wenger and Nasri to serve European prohibited

London - Manager Arsene Wenger and midfielder Samir Nasri will be next to two miss Arsenal Champions League match after opting step of recourse against a match suspensions.


The pair was delivered to the ban by UEFA, while Wenger was also fined $14.00 for "inappropriate language" towards the referee Massimo Busacca after 3-1 defeat in Barcelona earlier this month.


Wenger was angered by a decision of the official Switzerland to send off the coast of striker Robin van Persie for a second yellow card for the ball from kicks early in the second half.


Van Persie was told to take a shot on goal, just one second after blown for offside, with the Dutch who were protesting that he had not heard whistle of the referee because of noise from the crowd of 95,000 at the Camp Nou stadium.

Arsenal eventually lost the tie 4-3 in total and Wenger insisted that he would refuse the charge against him.


However, the English Premier League club have now decided not to take the issue more far.

"The Manager and midfielder was suspended after accusations of misconduct in the wake of Arsenal Champions League exit in Barcelona for a European game.".
