NFL news: Lions' Wright injured, ESPN poll, Monday Night Football tonight

7:11 PM
The injury bug continues to hamper the Detroit Lions as projected starting cornerback Eric Wright was injured at practice earlier today. The injury appears to be to his right leg as the UNLV alum most of the remaining practice time. Wright’s injury comes at a bad time as the Lions’ other projected corner, Chris Houston, is out with an injury as well. The Lions will be back in action this Friday when they travel to Cleveland to battle the Browns.

Speaking of the Lions, ESPN has a poll up where you can vote for who you think will win each of the NFL’s eight divisions. As of 1 p.m. EST today, the Lions were getting 12% of the vote in terms of winning the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers lead the way with 73%. You can view the poll at http://espn.go.com/sportsnation/post/_/id/6847270/has-nfl-power-structure-changed.

In other NFL news, tonight’s Monday Night Football match up (preseason edition) will take place in Houston as the Matt Schaub and the Texans host Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets. Kick off is slated for 8 p.m. EST, live on ESPN. The Texans are a three point favorite heading into the game.
